Chinese

  • Students may take up to 12 hours of Chinese on campus to meet the language requirement for the Bachelor of Arts degree (CHI 101 | 102 | 201 | 202).
  • Students may take an additional 6 hours studying abroad to earn a minor in Chinese or use it as the language of choice in International Studies.

French

  • Students may major or minor in French, or declare a major in Modern Languages, Foreign Language and International Trade (FLIT), International Studies, or Language, Writing and Linguistics (LWL) with an emphasis in French.
  • There are opportunities to study abroad in France or Canada (with prior approval) during the semester or the summer.
  • All graduates may apply for a program to teach English in France. Several alumni have participated in the past and were well prepared for the experience.

Spanish

Classical Languages Offered at
Mississippi College

Greek and Hebrew

  • Classical Greek and Hebrew are taught in the Department of Christian Studies as part of the Biblical Languages Concentration.
  • Both languages meet the 12 hour language requirement for the Bachelor of Arts degree.
