The Division of Student Experience celebrates students each year at the annual Student Experience Awards Gala in April. The Awards Gala recognizes outstanding student leaders of all classifcations who have contributed to campus life at Mississippi College. The 2024 Student Experience Awards Gala is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Nominations for Student Experience Awards are accepted from the entire campus community.

Awards & Nominations

Hall of Fame

Established in 1960, the Hall of Fame is awarded to senior students for outstanding leadership ability, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, participation and contribution to student life, and dedication to serving God and fellow man. This recognition is one of the highest honors to be given on the campus of Mississippi College. Each year, two females and two males are chosen for the honor. 

Nominated students should:

  • have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability through campus organizations or leadership teams
  • achieved scholastically at Mississippi College
  • been involved in extracurricular activities
  • contributed to student life
  • shown dedication to serving God and fellow man
  • be a currently enrolled student at Mississippi College holding senior hours

Scott-Swor Founder's Award

The Scott-Swor Founder's Award is conferred upon the senior student who has been chosen for having made a significant contribution to student life of the college exemplifying the ideals of the founders of the college and their successors, quality of living, leadership, and service. In memory of Dr. Charles W. Scott who served the Mississippi College community for 30 years and Dr. Chester E. Swor, a Baptist evangelist, alumnus, and one-time faculty/staff member of MC.

Nominated students should:

  • have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability through campus organizations or leadership teams
  • achieved scholastically at Mississippi College
  • been involved in extracurricular activities
  • contributed to student life
  • represent the ideals of the founders of Mississippi College and their successors
  • be a currently enrolled student at Mississippi College holding senior hours

Nominations for the Scott-Swor Founder's Award 2024 have closed. 

Senior Awards of Excellence in Leadership

The Senior Awards of Excellence in Leadership recognize senior students who are distinguished by visionary leadership on campus and their vision of greatness. Students receiving this award may have shown leadership in a particular organization or department, or have served in various roles across campus.

Nominated students should:

  • have demonstrated excellent leadership ability through campus organizations or leadership teams
  • achieved scholastically at Mississippi College
  • been involved in extracurricular activities
  • contributed to student life
  • be a currently enrolled student at Mississippi College holding senior hours

*Hall of Fame and Scott-Swor Founders Award will not be announced until April. Therefore, feel free to nominate students you may have nominated for those awards as well. Multiple students typically receive the Senior Award of Excellence in Leadership. 

Nominations for the Senior Awards of Excellence in Leadership have closed. 

Student Experience Servant Leadership Award

The Student Experience Servant Leadership Award recognizes sophomore and junior students who have served the campus as a whole and are actively leading on campus through engagement, servicce to the institution and living out our Christian mission.

Nominated students should:

  • have demonstrated servant leadership through campus organizations or leadership teams
  • achieved scholastically at Mississippi College
  • been involved in extracurricular activities
  • contributed to student life and the Christian mission of the institution
  • be a currently enrolled student at Mississippi College holding sophomore or junior hours

* Multiple students typically receive the Student Experience Servant Leadership Award.

Freshman Female of the Year and Freshman Male of the Year

The Freshman Female of the Year and the Freshman Male of the Year are each recognized for their ability to emulate the vision and mission of the university throughout the course of their first year at Mississippi College.

Nominated students should:

  • have demonstrated involvement and commitment to campus organizations and leadership teams
  • achieved scholastically at Mississippi College
  • be committed to the Christian mission of Mississippi College
  • be a currently enrolled student at Mississippi College with freshman hours

Nominate for the Freshman Female and Male of the Year Awards

The Spirit of MC Award

The Spirit of MC Award recognizes freshmen students who have ignited their college career at MC, stepping into their role at MC as young leaders by cultivating a positive atmosphere and experience for their class and the campus community.

Nominated students should:

  • have actively partipated in campus life
  • achieved scholastically at Mississippi College
  • be committed to the Christian mission of Mississippi College
  • be a currently enrolled student at Mississippi College with freshman hours

Nominate for the Spirit of MC Award

The Student Organization Award of Excellence

The Student Organization Award of Excellence recognizes a registered Mississippi College student organization that is committed to the continued advancement of MC's mission as well as the engagement of the study body in the vision of the student organization. 

Nominated organizations should:

  • have actively participated to campus life during the current school year
  • be committed to the Christian mission of Mississippi College
  • be a non-club and tribe organization

Nominate for the Student Organization Award of Excellence

The Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award

The Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award of Excellence recognizes a faculty or staff sponsor of a Mississippi College student organization, club or tribe who goes above and beyond to assist students and contribute to the life of the student organization they advise. 

Nominated advisors should:

  • be an active advisor to an MC student organization, club or tribe
  • be committed to the Christian mission of Mississippi College

Nominate for the Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award

The Community Partner of the Year Award

The Community Partner of the Year Award recognizes a local business or organization which has served Mississippi College with excellence throughout the academic year.

Nominated community partners should:

  • be a business or organization which operates within the Clinton or surrounding metro area
  • be committed to the Christian mission of Mississippi College
