Professor Franklin D. Rosenblatt is an associate professor who came to MC Law in 2021. His research interests include militaries, atrocities, and courts. His work has appeared in general law reviews such as Villanova Law Review, Creighton Law Review, Journal of National Security Law and Policy, and websites such as Opinio Juris.

Before becoming a full-time law professor, Professor Rosenblatt first-chaired litigation in federal and state courts at Butler Snow, LLP, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Before that he served in the U.S. Army JAG Corps as a prosecutor, legal advisor, and defense counsel, including as lead military defense counsel for Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl in the most publicized court-martial in American history.

A recognized expert in military justice, Professor Rosenblatt serves as the President of the National Institute of Military Justice, an organization devoted to the fair administration of justice in military tribunals. He also serves as President of the Criminal and Disciplinary Law Committee of the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War ; an appointed Special Master for terrorism cases for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia; and a Court of Appeals Judge for the Mississippi Army National Guard. He recently co-founded a new international law journal, Forces Law Review.

Professor Rosenblatt has been invited to speak to several of the world's flagship institutions including the Peace Palace in The Hague, the Pentagon, Yale Law School, the Hoover Institution, the Indian Progressive Lawyer's Forum, and St. Andrew's University in Scotland. He has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and co-written three books. He has filed amicus briefs at courts including the United States Supreme Court and the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where he presented oral argument in 2022.

Professor Rosenblatt continues to represent clients in national security cases and maintains a robust pro bono practice representing Mississippi juveniles who have been sentenced to life without parole.

Professor Rosenblatt has been described by his students as "approachable , profound, and kind." He has been selected by students for numerous awards, including best moot court coach (2022), best pro bono contributions (2022, 2024), BLSA Professor of the Year (2024), and Professor of the Year (2023, 2024).
