Professor Daniel M. Tavera joined the faculty at MC Law in 2024, bringing a wealth of practical and academic experience to his teaching and leadership roles. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Public Service Law Center, where he promotes community engagement and public interest legal work.

Professor Tavera teaches courses in Torts, Business Associations, and Bankruptcy. Before joining MC Law, he clerked for the Honorable John P. Gustafson of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio, who also served on the Sixth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and for the Honorable Scott W. Everett of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. These clerkships provided him with invaluable insight into both trial and appellate practice.

With a strong focus on federal bankruptcy law, Professor Tavera is dedicated to examining its complexities and nuances.
