Chip Stevens, senior pastor of First Baptist Church Jackson, was recognized as the 2024 School of Business Alumnus of the Year.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi College, Chip continued his education at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His commitment to excellence in ministry and education led to him being awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Mississippi College in 2020.
Chip’s ministry began at First Baptist Church Biloxi, where he initially served as minister to students and eventually as the senior pastor. He later went on to serve as senior pastor at First Baptist Church Starkville before taking on his current role at First Baptist Church Jackson. He has also served the Southern Baptist Convention, contributing as a member of both the Teller Committee and the Committee on Nominations.
Chip’s connection to Mississippi College has remained strong over the years. He currently serves on the MC Board of Trustees and was recognized early in his career with the Young Alumnus of the Year Award in 1996. The Mississippi College School of Business is proud to honor Chip Stevens as our 2024 Alumnus of the Year.
